In this week's Gospel "a voice came out of the cloud, saying 'this is my beloved Son; hear him'."
God was speaking to the disciples Peter, James and John. It was an incredible experience for the disciples as they heard the Father’s voice and understood His very real presence and love.
Today, we might not hear a voice from a cloud, but God, our Father, is still present and calling out to us. We only need to listen closely.
We can listen by paying attention to those around us -- the poor and less fortunate. We can listen by praying in a quiet place like our Church or place of worship. What might our Father reveal to us in the silence of prayer?
God truly is within our midst. Take the time to "hear him."
