The early Christians in the time of St. Paul were a lot like us. They questioned the purpose of their lives. Many wished for a sign from God in order to know that He was real.
Yet even with some of their questions and uncertainties, their dedication to their faith in God was what helped them through the struggles in life.
St. Paul cautions us against seeking extraordinary occurrences or knowledge as we seek to grow closer to God. He says we will discover many of the answers we're looking for by following Christ's example and his call to love one another.
When we are dedicated to our faith; when we practice what Jesus taught us; we will become aware of Godís presence and purpose for our lives.
