When Jesus entered into Jerusalem in this week's Gospel, the crowds greeted Him with great jubilation.
But Jesus knew what he was heading into – that these very same people who shouted "Hosanna" would soon turn against Him.
It took incredible selflessness for Christ to make that journey. He faced betrayal, torture and crucifixion. Nevertheless, Jesus gave of himself completely in fulfilling the Father’s will.
As faithful disciples of Christ, there are journeys we face in order to fulfill God's will for us. It is not always easy.
However, we can ask God for the strength to give of ourselves with selfless love; and in doing so we take another step closer to the salvation God has promised.
