Would you be willing to give up your house or new car or big screen TV to help someone in need? Certainly, that would be quite drastic.
But in the scripture reading from chapter 4 of the Acts of the Apostles we see equally drastic sacrifices made by the early followers of Jesus.
The disciples gave up their possessions to become "one heart and one mind" so there was "no needy person among them".
Today, no one would expect us to give up our house. But we are called to give of our time, talents and treasures to help others.
Following Christ teachings can be a challenge. But if we work together – if we love one another – we can do great things to help ensure there is "no needy person among us." What will you give?
