Faith Moment Ignorance 3

Transcript of audio:

In this week's reading, John seeks to help us understand how love is perfected in us by the things we choose to do or not to do. He teaches us three things:

First, love is capable of growth in us, perhaps even endless growth.

Second, the way we act – the way we respond to God and others – is how we can gauge the true measure of our love.

And lastly, love that exists as just a feeling is love that remains unfulfilled.

In other words, true and perfect love requires knowledge, effort and action.  It is through our seeking to understand and our willingness to respond to the needs, desires and interests of others that the love of God is truly perfected in us.
