In his second letter to the Corinthians, St. Paul shares that, although he endured much suffering, he always trusted in God's protection.
St. Paul survived a stoning, was arrested and imprisoned and was shipwrecked three times as he spread the Gospel. But his faith enabled him to carry on.
As St. Paul wrote, "We walk by faith, not by sight." In other words, as Christians, we live trusting in God's promise of eternal life, not by what is in our sight here on earth.
St. Paul wanted to live in such a way as to be worthy of the promise of eternity with God. Our focus should be the same.
As you make your way in the world – no matter what troubles you may endure – trust in the security and guidance of God. Remember, we walk by faith, not by sight.
