As we reflect on servanthood and its meaning in this week's Scripture readings, there are sure to be some who think the message does not apply to us.
How often do we see others who put their own glory before everything else? They serve no one but themselves.
In fact, each and every one of us is called to servanthood – to promote the wellness of others for the greater good and the glory of God.
While Jesus was the ultimate servant – giving His life for us – following Him in servanthood does not necessarily mean we have to give everything up. Being a servant can mean doing simple everyday tasks with generosity, integrity, selflessness and love.
It helps to remember that all of us are considered God’s people. When we serve one another, we share in living out the Gospel as the disciples that God's calls us to be.
