The story of the blind man, Bartimaeus, in this week's Gospel gives us the perfect description of how we can trust in God.
Bartimaeus could not see Jesus, but he trusted that Jesus could cure his blindness. Bartimaeus was persistent in calling out to Jesus, even as others told him to be quiet.
Jesus heard the man and was aware of his request. Jesus restored his sight and told him "Go your way; your faith has saved you."
We are a lot like Bartimaeus. We can't see God, but we can trust that He is there for us. God is aware of our needs; however, we must be persistent in asking Him for help to see the right path. It is through prayer and worship that we talk to God and will hear His response.
Like Bartimaeus, we must ask God for what we need and put our full trust in Him.
