The Advent season fills Christians with great hope as we reflect on God's promise to be with us always.
If we look at the readings this week, we see that we are called into relationship with God. In fact, that friendship is really what Advent is all about – God is with us.
Sunday’s first reading reminds us that God is faithful and will empower us to overcome any mountains and valleys we may encounter as He guides our lives by the light of His love.
But we must keep in mind that God’s empowering presence requires our participation. He works with us and through us – inviting us to be His coworkers – as we promote love, peace and justice on earth.
Advent is a good time to think about the mountains and valleys in our lives that keep us from being faithful coworkers with God. If something stands in the way, ask God for help.
