Our readings this week come on the Christian Feast of the Baptism of Jesus and are filled with vivid language of renewal.
They show us much about how to continually renew ourselves and our relationships with those around us and, most importantly, with God.
The first reading portrays God as a caring shepherd who wants to lead us down the path of a good life. It’s a path that seeks justice, for us and for our neighbors.
When we follow that path – when we help others to see God… or free someone from the confines of poverty or oppression – we renew for them faith in the good life which God wants for us all.
Ask yourself what you might do to bring that sense of renewal – of goodness and justice – to someone else today.
