In his letter to the Corinthians, St. Paul compares faith communities to a body made up of many parts – with none being less important than another. It is a great lesson in how we are to live with each other.
Just as the eye sees, the hand embraces, the ear hears, each one of us makes up a unique part of the whole that is our world. By joining together and sharing our gifts and talents, we achieve far more than if we act alone.
St. Paul notes there is no division within the body. If one part suffers, all parts suffer with it. If one part is honored, all parts share the joy.
When we support and cherish one another we will find joy in the wholeness that God intends.
