Our readings this week focus on reconciliation, and as such, they challenge us to work on our relationships with God and one another.
Genuine relationships include both privileges and responsibilities for each party. They should never be one-sided. There is a mutual requirement that we will act in love toward one another.
Of course, we know it's not always easy and sometimes mistakes are made; failures do occur. That's why God gives us, and we in turn need to give others the gift of reconciliation. That is, of forgiveness, peace and love. In fact, our second reading challenges us to be ambassadors of reconciliation.
What can you do in your own life to foster a life of reconciliation? Is there someone you need to forgive? Is something keeping you from experiencing the fullness of God's love?
Talk it over with God. Be reconciled with Him and with your neighbor.
