Here's a quick story on how changing our attitude can make a big difference. A man saw a woman in the grocery store who was obviously stressed, with a crying child, a rushed schedule and a broken carton of milk on top of everything. The man was about to pass her by, when he stopped and decided to change his uncaring attitude. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a paper clip, handed it to the woman and said, "I know you've got what it takes to hold things together. Hang in there. Things will get better." The woman smiled and in an instant, her own attitude changed.
The man's encouraging words to a stranger offer a great example of the right attitude our readings teach about this week. Remember, even the smallest act of kindness can bring the light of God to others.
