Faith Moment Advocacy 4

Transcript of audio:

Who in your life is your advocate?

In Christianity, the Holy Spirit is commonly referred to as the paraclete, an ancient Greek word that means advocate or helper.  Christians believe God has given us the Holy Spirit as our advocate, to be with us always, providing guidance and direction.  We can think of this spirit of truth within us like a parent who advocates for their child, guiding, comforting, only wanting what is best for them...all offered with great love.

The Bible tells us that at his baptism, the Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus like a dove.  And, at the Last Supper, Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to his disciples.  God wants to send His spirit to us, to guide us and protect us on life’s journey.  We can all look to the Holy Spirit to help us respond to God's love and his call to love one another.

How will you respond?
