We’ve all heard stories about extraordinary acts of kindness. I recently heard one about a school bus driver who goes home from work every night and cooks food for the poor and the hungry in his neighborhood. He uses his own kitchen and his own money. You may also remember the policeman who bought a pair of boots for a homeless person he saw walking barefoot in the bitter cold. These simple, ordinary ways we reach out to others can have extraordinary effect. Because they are ordinary ways in which God works in and through us.
Be inspired today to create your own way of showing God's love, mercy and graciousness to others. Remember these words of Saint Basil, “A good deed is never lost; he who sows courtesy reaps friendship, and he who plants kindness gathers love.”
