I know this will sound strange in the middle of the summer, where have the ashes of Lent gone? What about those times of prayer? Solitude? If Lent is supposed to lead us to a new way of life and not just be a 40-day season, then today carve out for yourself time to be with and for the Lord. A time of solitude, that brings you into that divine presence. Henry Nowen in his work Making All Things New says "Solitude begins with a time and a place for God. And God alone. If we really believe not only that God exists but also that God is actively present in our lives, healing, teaching, and guiding, we need to set a time, a space, aside to give God our undivided attention. That is all that the Lord asks of us. Just find time for solitude to go to that out of the way place in the midst of the noisy world and to be with Him. And all will be well.
