Our world is a pretty noisy place and in our busy lives it is not always easy to be still. But in stillness we can find peace.
In this Sunday’s scripture reading, Samuel is able to hear God in the stillness of the temple. In silence he discovers God’s plan for him, praying "Speak Lord, your servant is listening."
Will you hear God when he speaks to you? Take some time for yourself to be still and reflect in silence on what God is saying to you. Stop by your church or place of worship to pray and contemplate in the quiet and peaceful surroundings.
Like Samuel, we're all called to take a break from the noise of life and be still. Only then can we truly hear God’s voice and discover peace in our lives.
