Faith Moment Openness 1

Transcript of audio:

This week’s Gospel from Mark teaches us about openness and trust in God's word.

We hear about Jesus teaching in the synagogue, speaking not as the scribes of the day might, but as one with authority.  Clearly His words had the power to invoke change.

The people were amazed, saying “With authority he commands even the unclean spirits and they obey him.” It was the words that Jesus spoke that were like nothing else the people had ever heard before. His fame began to spread quickly from that point on.

The Word of God has the power to change our lives too.  God wants to free us from the negative influences in our lives that sap our time, our energies and our thoughts.  He wants to empower us to do what is good and constructive. We only need to be open and trust in Jesus and his teachings.
