Have you ever wished you could Google the meaning of life and get answers to why you’re here on earth? Of course, it’s not that easy.
But if we listen carefully to this week’s readings – especially those of St. Paul and the Gospel of Mark – we can find some insight into God’s purpose for our lives.
St. Paul found his meaning in an inner drive to serve others. We too, like Paul, are intended to share in that same purpose of helping others in their time of need, whether their need be financial, physical or emotional, or even the need to discover the love of God.
In Mark’s Gospel, Jesus’ shows us the true nature of God when he makes known his purpose of visiting other towns and villages so that he might heal the needs of others and point out to them the love of God.
When we imitate Jesus, God brings meaning and healing not only to our own lives, but to the lives of those around us as well.
