Praying “The Light of Faith,” The First Encyclical of Pope Francis
Facilitated by Rev. Peter Drilling
Who should attend: Priests, deacons, religious, lay ecclesial ministers, CKS students, alumni and others wishing to enter more deeply into the meaning of the baptismal call to serve in the name and the spirit of Christ Jesus.
Program: This year’s retreat will focus on reading, reflecting upon and praying about the first encyclical of Pope Francis, “The Light of Faith.” For the most part, the encyclical was written by Pope Benedict XVI, and complements Benedict’s previous encyclicals on charity and hope. This powerful encyclical on faith can serve as a directive for living a thoroughly Christian life.
Participants are asked to purchase “The Light of Faith” encyclical, available at The Catholic Union Store, 795 Main St, Buffalo, NY; email CUS@buffalodiocese.org.
Accommodations: Most, but not all, of the rooms are air-conditioned.
