A native of Buffalo, Gallagher is a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Parish in Cheektowaga.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology/anthropology from the State University of New York at Fredonia.  Before entering the seminary, he worked as a bank teller and an assistant English Teacher for Kawai-mura Board of Education, Kawai-mura, Iwate Prefecture, Japan.

Uebler is from Elma and St. Vincent Parish in Springbrook.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania.  Prior to enrolling in the seminary, he worked as a distribution services aid.

Webster hails from Amherst.  He is a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Buffalo.  His degree is in hospitality and tourism from State University College at Buffalo.  He has a background in office management.

In the Diocese of Buffalo, seminarians in First Year Theology receive the ministry of Lector, followed by Acolyte during the second year.  Candidacy is received in the summer as seminarians enter Fourth Year Theology, with candidates ordained Transitional Deacons during the Fall of Fourth Year Theology.  They are ordained to the priesthood the following June, a month after they are graduated from the seminary.

According to the Book of Rites, “The acolyte is appointed in order to aid the deacon and to minister to the priest. It is his duty therefore to attend to the service of the altar and to assist the deacon and the priest in liturgical celebrations, especially in celebration of Mass; he is also to distribute communion as a special minister. In the same extraordinary circumstances an acolyte may be entrusted with publicly exposing the Blessed Sacrament for adoration by the faithful and afterward replacing it, but not with blessing the people.”

The Mass is open to the public.  All are welcome.
