The Parish Nurse Ministries of New York, Inc. will be hosting a seven day/night program entitled "Foundations of Faith Community Nursing” to be held July 20-27, 2013 at Christ the King Seminary, 711 Knox Road in East Aurora. The program will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, and will conclude on the following Saturday before noon.
This program is open to registered professional nurses of all faiths. Registration is limited to 15 participants and will provide 36 credit hours by Trocaire College. The program cost is $575 and includes all program materials and meals. Scholarships are available.
This program will introduce the participant to the myriad issues related to the Parish/Faith Community nurse role. Topics will include the Philosophy of Parish/Faith Community Nursing, its history and evolution. Time will be dedicated to allow the participant to become familiar with the unique functions of the Parish/Faith Community Nurse and will introduce methods that will ensure success in the field. Experts in the areas of legal issues and grant writing will provide insights for a Parish/Faith Community Nurse practice setting. Time will be spent in prayer and reflection, as well as, in activities that are designed to meet the needs of experienced and novice nurses in the field.
