Seminary to hold workshops, lecture and retreats

Christ the King Seminary in East Aurora, a fully-accredited ecumenical graduate school of theology and pastoral studies, is sponsoring a number of workshops, lectures and retreats through November.

Group spiritual direction, facilitated by Jan Sheridan, will be held Saturdays Sept. 21, Oct. 19, and Nov. 16 from 9 to 10 a.m.  Sheridan, a director at St. Joseph Center for Spirituality, will guide students in the understanding and process of spiritual direction, then the students will participate in actual direction themselves.  The fee is $10 per session; students are welcome to attend any or all sessions.

A workshop entitled Disciples Called to Witness will be presented by Deacon Donald Weigel on Saturday, Nov. 9, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Deacon Weigel is an adjunct professor at the seminary.

The Father Thomas Dailey Lecture, presented by Msgr. Edward Ciuba, is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 4, 7 p.m.  Msgr. Ciuba will lecture on “Divine Presence in an Evolving Universe”; he is former rector of Immaculate Conception Seminary at Seton Hall University in Orange, N.J.

A fall retreat entitled Divine Presence in an Evolving Universe, facilitated by Sister Sharon Goodremote, FSSJ, Public Policy Coordinator for Catholic Charities of Buffalo, will be held Oct. 4-5.
