Program Overview

At Christ the King Seminary our future priests, deacons and lay ministers study and continually work together, sharing what can be shared and valuing the differences of each. Christ the King is one of only a few U.S. Catholic seminaries using this collaborative educational model.  Our alumni are ministering as priests, deacons, women and men religious, parish administrators, pastoral associates, catechists, directors of religious education, youth ministers, teachers in our Catholic schools, hospital chaplains, campus ministers, prison chaplains, and volunteers.

EDUCATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS
It is the mission of Christ the King Seminary to educate sponsored candidates for ordained priesthood and permanent diaconate in the Roman Catholic Church and individuals pursuing either a graduate theological education, a ministerial education program, or a program of continuing education. Between 2002 and 2012 thirty graduates of the Master of Divinity program have been ordained Roman Catholic priests.  Ninety percent of these graduates remain active as priests.  An alumni survey of the class of 2007  show that 100% are actively working in ministry, with 75% serving in parishes and 25% in hospitals.
