Telling Our Sacred Stories
Presented by Rev. Bob Pecoraro, S.J., member of the spiritual formation team, Christ the King Seminary
Spirituality is biographical and involves three inseparable stories: the story of God, as it unfolds in the Old and New Testaments, as well as in our lives today; the story of the self; and the story of the world around us. This makes each moment of our lives and all of our individual stories sacred. Using poetry, art, scripture, and story, we will explore how God is revealing himself to us, as well as the importance of encounter and telling our own story in ministry. This retreat will help us to become aware of God's presence in our lives and how he can be found in people we meet and the encounters we share with them while living out our call to ministry and discipleship.
Rev. Bob Pecoraro S.J. entered the Society of Jesus in 2000 at the age of thirty-three. He holds master's degrees in Applied Philosophy, Divinity, Spirituality, and Educational Leadership. Father Pecoraro has spent much of his time working in secondary education as vice president of Mission and Identity at Canisius High School and president of Xavier High School in Chuuk, Micronesia. Since 2001 Father Pecoraro has been a spiritual director focusing on Ignatian spirituality and directing various retreats. Fr. Pecoraro is currently on the spiritual formation team at Christ the King Seminary.
