The Life & Times of Brother Thomas de Aquino: An Introduction to His Spiritual Exercises

Presented by Eric Mabry, PhD

St. Thomas is often regarded as a theologian whose head was "in the clouds," someone who was "out of touch" with the real world. Likewise, his famous Summa Theologiæ is usually treated as a kind of theological encyclopedia. This presentation challenges both of these (false) narratives by introducing people to the historical complexities of the life of St. Thomas and familiarizing them with the spiritual dimensions of his great Summa.

Dinner begins at 5:30 in our main dining room, followed by the lecture at 6:30. Lecture will last about an hour, followed by time for Q&A and discussion.
